Given a specific prompt, students will have two weeks week after prompt release to brainstorm, prototype and refine their solution.
02
On competition day, teams will deliver ~10 minute, formal presentations about their creative solutions to a live panel of judges.
03
Esteemed judges will evaluate teams on innovation, feasibility, impact, and clarity of presentation. Based on feedback, prizes will be announced.
Each team can have a maximum of 4 students. Participants can register together as a team. If without a team, individuals can indicate a desire to be matched with a team. Any participant who does not request to be matched will compete as an individual.
Each team will be evaluated with several criteria. These include practicality, applicability to prompt, creativity, engineering concepts and presentation.
Teams are not required to build anything physically tangible. The deliverable for Penn Ignition is a presentation of your solution. You’re welcome to include mockups, sketches, or demos if you’d like, but the main focus is on the concept, feasibility, and how well you communicate your idea.
